Chromium shown to reduce Down Syndrome
Choline, normally classified as a member of the vitamin B family, when given as a supplement to pregnant and/or lactating female mice, demonstrated an ability to impart lasting cognitive and emotional benefits to pups genetically engineered to display symptoms of Down’s syndrome.
The improvements found in cognition and in certain measurements of mental abilities were also extrapolated to imply that the supplementation of choline may also be protective against neurodegenerative conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease.
